On 23 March Sahit Academy Yuva Puraskar winner Deepak Dhalewan honoured at M.M. Modi College
The Post-graduate department of Punjabi, Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala today organized a special lecture to mark the martyrdom of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and to honour the winner of Sahit Academy Yuva Purskar for his poetry Prof.Deepak Dhalewan. The lecture was delivered by Prof Balbir Singh, Ex Head of department Punjabi, M.M.Modi College Patiala. College principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar ji while congratulating Prof Deepak said that Bhagat Singh was an epitome of sacrifice and a political philosopher who influenced the different streams of freedom struggle of India and still continues to guide us.
Dr. Gurdeep Singh, Head of Punjabi Department formally introduced the speaker and said that this lecture is organized to remember the ideology and legacy of Bhagat Singh. Prof. Balbir Singh in his lecture elaborated how Bhagat Singh as a revolutionary and as a thinker is misunderstood by construction of myths and anti-historical narratives around his images and ideas. Discussing the life events of Bhagat Singh he said that in his initial years he was deeply influenced by anarchist revolutionaries of Russia but later he was more committed to philosophical interpretation of politics and his ideas are still motivating millions of people of south Asia to fight against oppression.
On this occasion the poet Prof. Deepak Dhalewan was honoured by the college for winning Sahit Academy Yuva puraskar for his poetry book , “Malaha ton Bina’ Dedicating his book to the struggling people of Punjab he said that the art of poetry is to bring alive the inner self and to recognize the pain and struggles of other people. He said that such honour brings more responsibility and vision to the work of a writer. He also shared some of his poetry with the audience.
On this occasion the stage was conducted by Dr. Rupinder Singh. A lively disunion was also followed. The vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Veerpal Kaur. Large number of faculty members including Prof. Shailendra Sidhu, Prof. Ved Parkash, Prof. Neena Sareen and Registrar Dr. Ajit Kumar were present. The students of the college attended the programme online.

ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਪੋਸਟ-ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ 23 ਮਾਰਚ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ-ਏ-ਆਜ਼ਮ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਲਈ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੁਖੀ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਬਲਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਅਕਾਦਮੀ ਯੁਵਾ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਇਰ ਦੀਪਕ ਧਲੇਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਏ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਸਮੀ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਲਾਸਾਨੀ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਮਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਬੁੱਤ-ਪੂਜਕ ਬਣਨ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਫਲਸਫੇ ਦੀ ਕੰਨਸੋਅ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਸਲ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਸਰੋਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਹਿਰਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਘੋਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲੋਕ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਰ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਹਿੱਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਸ਼ਹੀਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਵਿਦਵਾਨ ਵਕਤਾ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਬਲਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਔਕੜਾਂ ਭਰੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਚਿਤਾਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਮਾਨਸਿਕਤਾ ਹੀ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਨਾਇਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਾਸਤਵਿਕਤਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀਆਂ ਮਿੱਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਕਰਾਮਾਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਧ ਤਰਜੀਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਦੇ ਅਹਿਮ ਪੜਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਤੱਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਚਾਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਪੜਾਅ ਰੂਸ ਦੇ ਅਰਾਜਕਤਾਵਾਦੀ ਇਨਕਲਾਬੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਜਦੋਂਕਿ ਦੂਜਾ ਪੜਾਅ ਦਾਰਸ਼ਨਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਚਿੰਤਕ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਦੂਜੇ ਪੜਾਅ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਜ ਦੀ ਹਕੂਮਤ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਖਤਰਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਦੀ ਹਕੂਮਤ ਨੂੰ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਕ ਅਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਨਵੇਂ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਜਨਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਸ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਅਕਾਦਮੀ ਯੁਵਾ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਵਿਜੇਤਾ ਸ਼ਾਇਰ ਦੀਪਕ ਧਲੇਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ, ਉਥੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਅਹਿਸਾਸ ਵੀ ਵਧਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਵੀ ਸਵੈ ਦੀ ਤਲਾਸ਼ ਲਈ ਖੁਦ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਬਨਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਾਵਿ ਸਿਰਜਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਰੋਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਸ਼ਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦਾ ਆਗਾਜ਼ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੀ ਰੂਪ-ਰੇਖਾ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ।
ਮੰਚ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਜ ਡਾ. ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਢਿੱਲੋਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਿਭਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਬਲਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਇਰ ਦੀਪਕ ਧਲੇਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਯਾਦਗਾਰੀ ਚਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਭੇਂਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਧੰਨਵਾਦੀ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਡਾ. ਵੀਰਪਾਲ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕੀਤੇ।
ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸ਼ਲੇਂਦਰ ਸਿੱਧੂ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਵੇਦ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਨੀਨਾ ਸਰੀਨ, ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਡਾ. ਅਜੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।
